Licensed Electrician

About this Position:

The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible to carry out preventative maintenance, maintain the day-to-day operations and to assume responsibility for maintaining the physical activities of various assets of the Company including the general electric maintenance and upkeep of equipment and machinery to minimize production down time. The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for maintaining electrical, and other related systems.  The Maintenance Electrician must be prepared to work as a team member and with minimal supervision, follow all safety and food safety procedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a manufacturing environment. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Troubleshooting and operating equipment to reduce downtime.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks on time as directed by maintenance planners.
• Participate in the installation, Startup, procuring and de bugging of equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve control networks, instrumentation, PLC, HMI, VFD, servo and control problems.
• Perform general electrical duties such as installing conduit and wiring motors.
• Support Plant Projects.
• Maintain accurate and complete records, document all work performed appropriately.
• Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
• Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
• Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Other related duties and assigned.

• Minimum grade 12 High School Diploma with valid Canadian Industrial Electrician License.
• Minimum 5 years of Current Canadian experience working as Industrial Maintenance Electrician in Manufacturing (Food, Beverage, or Pharmaceutical Processing Plant);
• Communication and Analytical Skills:
• Strong verbal/ written communication and leadership skills with the ability to positively influence members of the team.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify issues, trends and drive solutions to improve H&S.
• Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial spirited, fast-paced and changing workplace environment with a desire to make a strong impact on the business.
• Must have a strong passion and desire for the wellbeing and safety of employees
• Must have excellent initiative and be a self-starter with a keen attention to details.
• Must have the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
