To effectively support the rapid scaling of operations at our state-of-the-art Hazelwood facility, US Waffle is seeking a dynamic and skilled Sanitation Manager to join our team in Hazelwood, MO.
The Sanitation Manager will lead the development of the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), ownership of chemical programs and spend, procurement of sanitation supplies (smocks, etc.), and development of training programs for all sanitation employees.
This role is position is responsible for ensuring that food safety is not compromised while meeting the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing and are responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

This role is position is responsible for ensuring that food safety is not compromised while meeting the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing and are responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Own and develop the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), ensuring all equipment, facility areas, and infrastructure are cleaned at the appropriate frequency and in compliance with SQF, GMP, and HACCP requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve SSOPs and sanitation standards in alignment with plant needs and regulatory expectations.
- Own all sanitation chemical programs and spend, including: Selection and optimization of chemicals
- Manage procurement and inventory of sanitation-related supplies, including smocks, PPE, and cleaning tools, ensuring adequate availability and cost efficiency.
- Develop and implement a structured sanitation training program, including: New hire onboarding, Ongoing skills development
- Verification of competency and adherence to standards
- Observe all expectations for quality, and safety
- Provides coaching, training and direction to entire sanitation team
- Provides initial and ongoing training for direct reports as it relates to sanitation
- Perform associate performance evaluations as required
- Completes daily post sanitation inspections to ensure all equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and prepared for production
- Works closely (in conjunction with QA) with regulator inspectors such as USDA and SDDA as it relates to plant audits and inspections
- Conduct sanitation inspections of the facility and participate in the annual review
- Ensure optimal staffing for the shift, track attendance, implement sanitation schedule and enter schedule in time system
- Maintain vacation schedule and required time off for staff
- Implement actions as needed to prevent food safety and food quality issues
- Coordinate with QA to ensure excellent quality is being produced
- Ensure customer specifications are being met through evaluation and immediate reaction
- Monitor and ensure that all GMP’s, SOP’s, and HACCP are met at all times
- Ensure Production Floor is SQF ready EVERYDAY
- Works closely with sanitation chemical supplier as it relates to SSOP’s, cleaning chemicals and equipment inspections
- Be SQF ready every day, no exceptions
- Lead or participate in additional projects as needed

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Operations, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of sanitation experience in manufacturing; 3+ years in a food facility strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, SSOPs, sanitation programs, chemical handling, and food safety regulations.
- Experience with SQF, HACCP, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Demonstrated success leading teams in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Strong problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. The employee is exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud
